Seagulls open Trophy with penalty shootout defeat
Albion Women were beaten 4-3 on penalties by London Bees in their opening group game of the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on Sunday afternoon.
Cam Peupion and Josh Duffus were on target for the Seagulls, who twice came from behind at the Lamex Stadium.
Peupion opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Katie Robinson levelled just three minutes later.
Duffus then restored Albion's lead just before the hour mark, but again the hosts hit back quickly through Charmaine True.
The game went to penalties and, after Inessa Kaagman's early miss, the Bees converted all four of their spot-kicks, while Albion missed two.
What's next?
Albion Women are back in action on Sunday 21st August when they host Crystal Palace in the FA Women's Championship.
