Bayern Munich saw off Real Madrid 2-1
Ronaldo’s hat-trick, two goals from Lewandowski put the two sides on level terms ahead of the second leg
Football giants Bayern Munich and Real Madrid will be looking to reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals when they meet on Tuesday.
The two sides played out a thrilling 2-1 first leg in Bavaria, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s hat-trick cancelling out Robert Lewandowski’s double to level the tie.
Munich, who had Franck Ribery to thank for winning the penalty that allowed Ronaldo to complete his treble in the first leg, will be looking to make home advantage count and reach the last four for the seventh time in eight seasons.
Real, meanwhile, will be looking to overturn a first-leg deficit in the Champions League for the first time since 2015, when they beat Wolfsburg 3-0 in the quarter-finals after losing the first leg 2-0.
The match is sure to be a close and entertaining affair, with both sides possessing a wealth of attacking talent.
